Biography

Ms. Amna Ally is a long standing member of the Peoples National Congress Reform who has served as National Secretary of the youth movement. She is presently an elected member of the Central Executive Committee (CEC).She is currently serving her party as the Assistant General Secretary of the PNCR and as head of the Mobilization Department and Director of the Party Organization who also served as the Head teacher of the Redeemer Primary School until her retirement. A trained teacher, Ms. Ally possesses a Teachers Certificate and a Degree in Management from the University of Guyana.

Ms. Amna Ally was first elected in Parliament in 1985, she also served as a member of the eight Parliament, 2001-2006 and the ninth Parliament,2007-2011.

Ms. Amna Ally served in several capacities during her Parliamentary life: Shadow Porfolio- Home Affairs, chairperson of the Social Services Committee, Parliamentary Management Committee, Standing Orders Committee, Appointive Committee and in the 10th Parliament, Shadow Minister of Education and Culture.
