Biography

Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett was born in the Amerindian village of Santa Rosa, Region One, and is a specialist in Amerindian Affairs and a Community Worker. She was appointed Minister of Amerindian Affairs in 2001 and has been Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2008 she has the distinction of being the first female to be appointed to this post.
Hon. Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett also has responsibility for Region 9 Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo.
Specialist in Amerindian Affairs and a Community Worker.
Business Administration
Degree in Social Work University of Guyana.
Minister of Amerindian Affairs in (2001-2008).
Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2008 Hon. Representitive for Region 9 Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo.
