Deputy Speaker of the Surinamese National Assembly, Hon. Dewan Chandrebhose Sharman and attending delegates for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Training Seminar today paid a courtesy call on Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., Speaker of the National Assembly.
The meeting took place in the Speaker’s Chamber at the Public Buildings, Brickdam, Georgetown.
During the meeting, discussions sought to highlight Guyana’s Law-making process and the strengthening of bilateral relations among Commonwealth Parliaments. At the meeting, the delegation met with the Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Sherlock Isaacs, A.A., and senior officers attached to the Parliament Office.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation toured the Public Buildings, signed the visitors’ book, and observed the proceedings during the 41st Meeting of the Public Accounts Committee.
Present during the visit were Parliamentarians, Mr. Ebu Jones, LL.B, M.P., and Ms. Harriet Ramdien, M.P., along with Advisor of International Relations, Mr. Steven Ishwardat, and Logistics Employee for International Relations, Mr. R. Banel, attached to the National Assembly of the Republic of Suriname.
Programmes Manager – Coordinator, Commonwealth Parliamentarians with Disabilities & Youth Engagement, Mr. Clive Barker, Deputy Head of Programmes - Multilateral Engagement, Mr. James Pinnell and Executive Officer, Ms. Avni Kondhia, attached to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Secretariat.
Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Ms. Hermina Gilgeous, Assistant Clerk of the National Assembly, Ms. Deslyn West, Parliamentary Executive Assistant, Ms. Christina Ramroop, Public Relations Officer, Mr. Yannick December attached to the Parliament Office was also present during the visit.
