Golden Om Dharmic Youth Organisation Wins the 2022 Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition

It was a close finish as the Golden Om Dharmic Youth Organisation narrowly defeated Angoy’s Avenue Youth Friendly Space in the finals for the Speaker’s National Youth Debating Competition 2022.
The Final was hosted physically in the Dome of the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC), Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown, E.C.D.
The combined scores for the judges were as follows: for the Proposition, Golden Om Dharmic Youth Organisation, 278 points, and 271 points for the Opposing side, the Angoy’s Avenue Youth Friendly Space.
The moot for the final debate was "The Natural Resource Fund Will Ensure Intergenerational Equity".
Ms. Latoya Bethune of the Angoy’s Youth Friendly Space was adjudged Best Debater for that Matchup.
Members of the Diplomatic Corp, after the finals, assisted with the distribution of prizes at the award ceremony for participants for this year’s Competition.
Forty-eight (48) participants from sixteen (16) Youth Groups throughout the eleven (11) Educational Districts of Guyana participated in the Competetion.
The Final debate was streamed live via the Parliament’s Website, Facebook, and YouTube pages and on NCN.
