The Society1 of Clerks-at-the-Table in Commonwealth Parliaments exists to:
1. Provide a means by which the Parliamentary practice of various Legislative Chambers of the Commonwealth may be made more accessible to Clerks-at-the-Table, or those having similar duties, in any such Legislature in the exercise of their professional duties; and
2. Foster among Officers of Parliament a mutual interest in their duties, rights and privileges.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union was formally established in 1894.
One of its main aims is to promote personal contacts between Members of Parliament.
This body is the grouping formed by the Branches of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association in the Region.
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association was founded in 1911. It is an association of Commonwealth Parliamentarians who, irrespective of race, religion or culture, are united by community of interest, respect for the rule of law and human rights and freedoms, and the pursuit of the positive ideals of parliamentary democracy.
