Agencies Examined During Day Three of the Consideration of the 2025 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure

LILIENDAAL, E.C.D., – February 4, 2025: The third day of the Consideration of the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year 2025 saw the approval of line items for several key agencies.
The proceedings occurred during the 99th Sitting of the National Assembly of the Twelfth Parliament, held in the Dome of the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC), Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown, East Coast Demerara.
The House approved the Current and Capital Expenditure for the following agencies, ensuring their inclusion in the 2025 Estimates:
- Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development
- Region No. 1: Barima/Waini
- Region No. 2: Pomeroon/Supenaam
- Region No. 3: Essequibo Islands/West Demerara
- Region No. 4: Demerara/Mahaica
- Region No. 5: Mahaica/Berbice
- Region No. 6: East Berbice/Corentyne
- Region No. 7: Cuyuni/Mazaruni
- Region No. 8: Potaro/Siparuni
- Region No. 9: Upper Takatu/Upper Essequibo
- Region No. 10: Upper Demerara/Upper Berbice
The deliberations underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable resource allocation across all regions and sectors, fostering development and improving public services nationwide.
At 11:34 p.m., the Honourable Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark A. Phillips, M.S.S., M.P., Prime Minister of Guyana, moved the Motion for the adjournment of the Sitting.
The fourth and final day of the Consideration of the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year 2025 will resume tomorrow, February 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.
