Day One of 2025 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure Consideration Concludes with Key Agency Allocations Approved

LILIENDAAL, E.C.D., – January 31, 2025: The first day of the Consideration of the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year 2025 concluded today with the approval of line-item allocations for several key government agencies. The deliberations took place during the 97th Sitting of the National Assembly of the Twelfth Parliament, held at the Dome of the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC) in Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown.
The House approved the Current and Capital Expenditure for the following ministries and agencies, ensuring their budgetary allocations stand part of the 2025 Estimates:
- Ministry of Agriculture
- Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce
- Ministry of Natural Resources
- Ministry of Public Works
- Ministry of Labour
- Ministry of Human Services and Social Security
- Ministry of Housing and Water
- Ministry of Education
- Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports
The Sitting was adjourned following a motion moved by the Honourable Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark A. Phillips, M.S.S., M.P., Prime Minister of Guyana.
The Consideration of the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year 2025 will resume on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., as the National Assembly continues its review of the government’s proposed budget allocations.
