House to begin debate on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (Amendment) Bill tomorrow

The Prime Minister moved a motion for the approval of Government's Policy in the President's Address. The motion stated that the "National Assembly expresses its sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President, Brigadier David A. Granger, M.S.S., for his Address to the National Assembly which was made on the occasion of the Ceremonial Opening of the First Session of the Eleventh Parliament of Guyana on Wednesday, 10th June, 2015, and approves of the policy adumbrated therein".
After several Members including the Ministers of Indigenous Affairs, Public Health, Agriculture,Tourism, Citizenship, Governance and spoke in support of the motion and highlighted the ways in which their various Ministries will act in support of the President's speech, the debate was suspended and the House adjourned to Friday, June 26, 2015 when the debate will continue. The National Assembly is also slated to begin debate on the ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING AND COUNTERING THE FINANCING OF TERRORISM (AMENDMENT) BILL 2015 – Bill No. 4/2015- presented by The Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Hon. Basil Williams at tomorrow's Sitting.
