The joy of Christmas continues to be shared with children across Guyana.
On Tuesday, 15th December, 2020, the Speaker's Christmas Outreach Programme went to the communities of Cane Grove, Mahaica, Foulis, Vigilance and Pigeon Island.
A team of parliamentary officials, inclusive of Ms. Carlleta Charles, Parliamentary Executive Officer, and Mr. Ean Mc Pherson, Personal Assistant to the Speaker of the National Assembly, distributed toys to the children in the communities.
The parliamentary team was assisted by community organisers who made it possible for the children to receive their toys.
Ms. Charles shared greetings on behalf of Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., Speaker of the National Assembly, and invited the children to sing a few Christmas carols.
The children showed their appreciation by giving a round of applause for Hon. Speaker Nadir's initiative.
The Speaker's Christmas Outreach Programme aims to distribute toys to 7000 children in Guyana.
