Gleeful faces all around as Speaker’s Christmas Outreach Programme ventures to the Soesdyke and East Bank Areas

There were smiles and excitement as scores of children, over the weekend, received their Christmas presents.
On Sunday, 20th December 2020, the Speaker's Christmas Outreach Programme went to the communities of Adventure, Silver Hill, Kairuni, Loo Creek, Banakari, Yarrowkabra, Swaan, Kuru Kuru (college), Laluni, Grove and Herstelling.
A team of Parliamentary Officials, inclusive of Ms. Carlleta Charles, Parliamentary Executive Officer, and Mr. Ean Mc Pherson, Personal Assistant to the Speaker of the National Assembly, distributed toys to the children in the communities.
Ms. Charles shared greetings on behalf of Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., Speaker of the National Assembly. The children expressed their appreciation, through applause, to Hon. Speaker Nadir for his initiative.
During the distribution process, Mr. Mc Pherson shared his dance moves with the children moves as they sang a few Christmas carols.
The parliamentary team was assisted by community organisers who made it possible for the children to receive their toys.
The Speaker's Christmas Outreach Programme aims to distribute toys to 7000 children in Guyana.
