Linden Children receive Toys from Speaker’s Christmas Outreach Programme

The Speaker's Christmas Outreach Programme travelled to Linden on Thursday, 17th December, 2020.
The communities of Three Friends, Old England, Nottinghampshire, West Watooka Farmers, West Watooka Front, Coomacka, Bamia, Half Mile, Poker Street and Spieghtland saw parliamentary, regional and community officials distributing toys to the children.
Parliamentary officials included Ms. Carlleta Charles, Parliamentary Executive Officer, and Mr. Ean Mc Pherson, Personal Assistant to the Speaker of the National Assembly.
Also present were the lead organiser, Mr. Majeed, Head of the Community Development Council (CDC) and other members of the CDC.
Ms. Charles greeted the children and other members of the communities on behalf of Hon. Manzoor Nadir, Speaker of the National Assembly, and led the children in singing Christmas carols.
Community leaders expressed overwhelming gratitude for the toys received by the children.
The Speaker's Christmas Outreach Programme aims to distribute toys to 7000 children across Guyana.
