Hon. Manzoor Nadir, MP, Speaker of the National Assembly, on 30th November, 2020, attended a virtual coordination meeting with Parliamentary Delegations from the Amazonian countries (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela).
The meeting, which saw more than 50 delegates from all eight countries of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO), focused on the “Reactivation of the Amazonia Parliament (PARLAMAZ)”. While this initiative found favour with and saw commitments from many of the delegates present, Hon. Following contributions from each Parliament represented at the meeting, the meeting concluded with a majority decision to have a follow-up meeting, scheduled for December, 2020, to formalise the reactivation of PARLAMAZ.
