Georgetown, Guyana – September 24, 2026: His Excellency Bernardo Del Pico Rubio, Ambassador of Chile to Guyana, today paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Manzoor Nadir, M.P., Speaker of the National Assembly, at the Public Buildings, Brickdam, Georgetown.

During the meeting, held in the Speaker’s Chamber, the two discussed the upcoming 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which is scheduled to take place in Arusha, Tanzania, from October 5 to 9, 2026. Their discussions also touched on the election of the President of the IPU.

Beyond these matters, Speaker Nadir and Ambassador Del Pico Rubio exchanged views on areas of mutual interest and emphasised the importance of continued dialogue and co-operation at a parliamentary level.

Dr. Carlleta Charles, Parliamentary Executive Officer, was also present at the meeting.
